Happy New Year!  We know that everyone is back at work this week trying to catch–up from the holidays, but don’t forget to mark your calendars for the upcoming Florida Local Section Spring Conference!  The conference is scheduled for March 12 and 13, 2018, and will be held at the Embassy Suites by Hilton located in Jacksonville, Florida. We are hosting the conference and annual meeting on Monday, and the PDCs on Tuesday.  We will hold our annual meeting during lunch where Anne Rogers will take over the reins of our local section. Our vendor night reception is scheduled for Monday at 5:30 PM, with plenty of snacks and drinks (cash bar).

Have you set your goals for 2018?  If one of your goals was to develop and practice your speaking skills, then we have the perfect opportunity for you! We are looking for additional speakers for the conference and professional development.  Truly, our members encompass a wide spectrum of today’s workplace and hold a wealth of information and experience.  If you, or someone you know, would like to speak on a subject that you are passionate about (or just get paid by your employer/clients to be knowledgeable about), then why not share that with us at the conference?  Or, maybe there was an interesting project you worked on last year that would benefit/entertain/inspire the group.  One of the enjoyable aspects of industrial hygiene is the variety of industries and topics that it encompasses.   Come share some of that variety with us this spring!  Please contact Mabely Wise (WiseCIH@Comcast.Net) with topic and/or PDC suggestions that you would like to speak about.

Stay tuned for the conference registration and hotel registration information.

Wishing you a prosperous New Year,

    FL Local Section Officers
