Florida Local Section AIHA Accolades - Wendy Benison

Industrial Hygienists sometimes have a thankless job preventing injury or illness and making efforts to improve the overall health and safety for co-workers.  Most of us are very busy with career, family and other commitments making it difficult to find time to  volunteer  for good causes.  Wendy Benison, is one of those special, selfless people, who has given her time and talents to the profession, serving the Florida Industrial Hygiene Association as a Board member for TWENTY FIVE consecutive years!!!  We recognize her efforts in appreciation for all that she has done for us over the years.  If you were in attendance at the Spring 2016 FL AIHA Conference, you would have heard a roar of applause for Wendy when she was the topic of discussion.

Wendy served on every FLLS Board position offered. She especially loved working with our vendors; a great group of people supporting our organization and vital to the success of our conferences.  For twenty five years, Wendy found a way to serve as a Board member; a record that will stand for a very long time…..perhaps forever.

Wendy and her husband Fred are in the midst of dealing with health issues. Wendy has retired from her stellar career as an industrial hygienist and as such, she is setting aside her volunteer efforts for FL AIHA in order to focus on getting their health back on track.  The Florida Local AIHA Section  appreciates all of her contributions and that we are thinking of both of them at this challenging time.  The FLLS owes Wendy a debt of gratitude for all that she has done on our behalf…..A heart-felt note of thanks for being an outstanding Board member taking care of our vendors, tracking meetings, preparing minutes, agendas, website entries, conference documentation, banking, financial reporting and many other  tasks  performed selflessly over the years.  Many thanks from all of us and wishing Wendy and Fred speedy recoveries.
